Hi there!
8th of the 8th and Style Yourself Confident is 8 years old today!
Although the planning took ages the actual launch was at a strange time when we were between houses very gratefully staying with my daughter.
I wanted to create 'evergreen' features that remain relevant and timeless. A good job I wasn't building a blog because, to be honest, I didn't know what a blog was!
My technology skills are still limited, but even I'm surprised how far we've come. I'm not an August birthday but I can be darned persistent when I want to be!
I have to thank you my lovely friends and readers for the interaction, support and friendship that you've shared with me over the years that's made it possible.
August is a month of family birthdays and anniversaries and, although our celebrations are necessarily slimmer this year, next week we will see our children all together for the first time this year, I can't wait!
Forget the diet! We need instant visible results following lockdown, staycations, baking marathons and the necessity for comfort food!
Although we have an excuse this year, we still want to look our best!
There is a strong connection between Stress and Skin Health!
Few of us have escaped worry-free over the last few months and skin, being the body's largest organ, rarely escapes the onslaught.
In fact your skin can be the first signal that something is wrong.
Does your skin need a treat?
Then it's time for your own DIY face and body scrubs with 100% edible and organic ingredients straight from your fridge!
Forget unhealthy chemicals and preservatives, what could be better than a delicious recipe with BANANAS, CUCUMBER or STRAWBERRIES.
This last year I've come to rely heavily on my Mia Tui travel bag?
Not only is it the perfect piece of hand luggage as it's held firmly onto your suitcase by the unique pocket slot at the back; but it's become my 'PA' on a day-to-day basis!
And look ahead for present purchases in the brilliant SALE!
A 12 Season Color Analysis is admitting that 4 Seasons don't work for everyone. Quite right, they don't!!
If you've been made 'part' of a Season, not only are your colors 'diluted' but you may not be a Season at all!
You might lean more towards one of the Tonal color palettes and missing out on lots of additional colors.
Question - I was draped as an Autumn in the late 80s. I just went through a
different color analysis - before I found your website - and was labelled
a Bright, Cool, Light.
My answer - Obviously I've heard this said many times before and I feel your frustration because the 2 results were so different!
Were you perfectly happy with the Autumn colors for all that time or were you beginning to have doubts. The confidence of youth allows us to enjoy ...read more
It's easy to forget that much of Color Analysis is pure logic! What you see and how you describe someone's natural coloring can often exactly describe their color family.
Colors can be LIGHT, DEEP, WARM, COOL, BRIGHT or MUTED and so can WE!
These are the basic TONAL Color Families.
It's only if you have a mix of these tonal color characteristics that you move into the Seasons.
Maxie has stunning white hair and hazel eyes and Jana is very fair with light teal eyes. There is a subtle mix of both warm and cool elements in them both but neither undertone is strong enough to be a priority.
But they both have one over-ridingly strong common denominator; every feature can be described as LIGHT whether it's warm or cool, i.e. hair skin and eyes. Colors in the Light Color Family are not wishy washy and colorless, they just have a lighter more delicate pigment that complements without overpowering.
Maxie's first analysis was some years ago but we've recently done a refresh with new colors and pictures. Check out what both ladies have to say in Before and After Color Analysis.
Keep well and Happy August to everyone
with love Pamela x
