Choosing color for a special occasion outfit is key and yet it can be nerve-wracking!
You like to imagine yourself stepping into a room, radiating confidence and elegance in a dress that perfectly complements your unique beauty. And it's easier than you think!
Don't know your perfect colors? No panic, the magic of Universal Colors always has the answer!
Whether you'll be Mother of the Bride, a wedding guest or even attending a special garden party; finding the perfect dress starts with understanding these universally flattering shades.
These carefully selected colors offer a balanced palette designed to flatter a wide range of complexions and add a touch of timeless class to any outfit.
They take the guesswork and 'nerves' out of choosing a color for a special occasion,
giving you a solid foundation to explore different shades and styles with
confidence. Think of them as your secret weapon for looking and feeling your
absolute best when dressing for a special occasion!
Each of the Universal colors sits midway between Warm and Cool, a perfect
balance of undertone, so no matter your complexion these colors will be
flattering. And because the Universal colors appear in every color palette you
will have no problem finding accessories to tone.
You can see how they all sit happily next to all the 4 Seasons (below) so even if there's a color scheme to follow, you will always be part of the picture.
While Universal Colors are designed to be universally flattering, it's important to remember that each color has a spectrum of shades. What looks stunning on one person might not be the perfect shade for another.
Don't be afraid to experiment!
Try on different variations of each Universal Color to discover which ones truly make your complexion glow. For example, within the turquoise family, you might find that a lighter aqua shade complements your skin tone better than a deeper teal.
Similarly, within
the pastel pink range, you might discover that a blush pink is more flattering
than a bubblegum pink. The key is to have fun and explore until you find the
shades that make you feel absolutely radiant!
TAUPE is a sophisticated modern neutral (between a beige and gray) that's both understated and chic!
It's usually thought of as a Cool color (perfect for Summers or Winters) with pink/violet undertones and it's incredibly flattering for women with pink toned skin and ash blonde/silver hair.
That can look quite flat on a warm skin so look for a richer creamier version (almost gold) which creates a stunning effect against a golden skin.

PASTEL PINK: is a soft, muted shade of pink that excudes the feeling of calm and delicacy.
It's a gentle hue which evokes a feeling of tranquility and grace.
Pastel Pink is quite timeless, it's soft and feminine but the muted element takes away any feeling of being 'sugary' or baby pink!

ACCESSORIZING WITH CONFIDENCE:
Choosing color for a special occasion is just the beginning! Once you've got the perfect dress, it's time to elevate your look with the right accessories.
Think about complementary colors and textures that will enhance your overall appearance. A silver necklace and earrings can add a touch of sparkle to a navy dress, while gold accents can beautifully complement a taupe or teal ensemble.
Don't be afraid to experiment with different styles of shoes, handbags, and jewelry to create a look that's uniquely you. They do not have to be the perfect shade to look good, blend shades and textures.
HAIR AND MAKEUP:
Hair and makeup plays a crucial role
in completing your elegant look.
If you're wearing a pastel pink dress, consider soft, romantic makeup with rosy blush and a nude lip. For a bolder look with a turquoise dress, try a smoky eye and a brighter lip color.
When it comes to your hair, choose a style that complements your dress and overall look. An updo can add a touch of sophistication, while loose curls can create a more relaxed and romantic vibe.
