Hi there!
In the depths of Winter weather here - a long time since I can remember it so cold. Although in it's usual changeable way we're expecting snow this week but warmer weather for Christmas!
Although that's a big change from the 30 degrees of last week's holiday, I'm not sorry to leave the quite frightening cyclonic storms we experienced in the Maldives - not the usual relaxing holiday so it's good to be home, even with mosquito bites!
Both our daughters are leaving for overseas trips so, this year, our Holiday will be very quiet and just a little indulgent. Christmas is just one day and we're fortunate enough to look forward to a family gathering in the New Year.
However you are able to celebrate, I wish you a very Merry Christmas filled with peace and joy. You have touched my life in so many ways and I thank you for your continued friendship and support. with love x
Although hygge style is part of Danish culture year round it's Winter when the Brits, in particular, are well on the way to capturing the same cosyness and warmth in our own homes and our hearts!
The cold weather has come early this year so Christmas socks and cosy blankets are the order of the day!
I've been looking for Winters Magic Color! The ONE color that will suit absolutely everyone with Winter coloring.
If you fit the bill, that is if your coloring is Cool, Deep and Bright (Clear) then COBALT BLUE is your Magic Color. I've never met a single Winter complexion that doesn't respond favourably to this fabulous strong almost electric blue!
A makeup class for the older woman that's also budget friendly? Sounds good.
Yes it certainly is so put your feet up and feast on this great video from beautiful New York makeup artist Kerry-Lou who shows us how to look our best for the Holiday season without breaking the bank!
I soon get fed up of the rich and traditional Christmas food and long for something with a fresh twist!
Raid your store cupboard for a few tins of vegetables and throw together this fresh and spicy chilli.
This is a real tummy warmer and makes a lot so freeze the leftovers for another dinner.
When you're looking to determine your color direction, never under estimate your own instincts! Amber felt good wearing colors with clarity, and when she wore black and white and other cool colors she received compliments.
But when she had an initial Color Analysis to confirm her color direction, just imagine the confusion when she was told to wear the warm and muted colors of Autumn!!
Although she tried to make the colors work, it's easy to see the problems she encountered in the pictures below. Her face says it all, the yellow tones completely drained her coloring and made her look and feel tired.
Fortunately, I've re-assessed her palette and the cool bold tones of Winter compliment her clear pink toned skin, bright eyes and intense dark hair.
Amber has quickly regained her lost confidence knowing that her instincts were right all along. She says "You have saved me a ton of money that would’ve been required to revamp my current wardrobe." See more...
