Hi there
Today is perfect blue sky and sunshine as our holiday season gets underway. But as a fellow blogger described only this morning, our summer's weather overall has been "spectacularly crap!" Personally I'm grateful for a temperate climate and the fact that we seldom have to cope with extremes!
Thank you for your comments re. navigation of the website, there appear to be few difficulties but please feel free to contact me with any problems. And thank you for the sweet messages I receive when something particularly pleases you!
Requests for Color Analysis are always heaviest during the month of September when we begin to look ahead to a new Season. But I will be away for a couple of weeks in September so please consider putting in your request earlier so you don't get caught in a long wait time. Take care and enjoy life Pamela X
LAVENDER is grown commercially in the UK and there are few summer sights quite as vibrant as a carpet of lavender in full bloom. Vivid and soothingly aromatic, lavender is harvested for it's oils and used for perfumes, luxury skin care and increasingly as a food flavoring!
From pale violet to bright azure blue this stunning flower symbolizes refinement, elegance, purity, serenity and grace. Visiting the UK? these are the most beautiful lavender fields from June through August.
Monochromatic dressing is chic, elegant and streamlines your silhouette!
I hesitated between the words 'monotone' which strictly means one-color-dressing or 'monochromatic'. But, actually, the latter gives us some leeway in the fact that we can use 'tones' of one color!
So whether you want to make a statement or just like to throw together a few unfussy separates, relax because every element of an outfit doesn't have to match perfectly!
My palette of Summer Roses shows that rarely is a color out of bounds whatever your color direction.
I've always considered ROSE PINK to be a cool color and yet, the more I break color into palettes the more I realize that nature has it's own agenda!
We tend to think that Cool rose pink is only found in the Summer and the Winter palettes, not so!
The Warm palettes of Spring and Autumn have their own part of pink roses to enjoy!
Whether you want to make a statement or throw together a few unfussy separates, monochromatic dressing is chic, elegant and streamlines the silhouette, explains Pamela of Style Yourself Confident.
Gaby is a successful business woman with a strong sense of style but wanted to confirm her coloring. She had been recommended to use golden tones in her makeup to compliment her (presumed) warm skin but the colors weren't actually flattering her at all.
Italian skin tones are very diverse reflecting the rich cultural and geographical variations across the country and, while most skin tones are a version of olive the majority having a warm (yellow/green) undertone, this is not always the case.
From her natural photos I was able to identify that Gaby's skin is olive toned but it is COOL and DEEP. She is instinctively drawn towards the Winter colors and they are a superb backdrop to her dramatic coloring.
Fortunately, one of her photos was a studio shot with professional makeup and, the artist got it spot on; she looks radiant! I show you the before and after makeup transformations that explain her color direction so clearly.
Unfortunately, sales assistants even many makeup artists, however well trained, are rarely experts in color and skin tones. When choosing makeup colors do take time to request a sample foundation to try at home before parting with your hard earned money! See more happy clients on the Testimonials page.
Gaby says: "I bought a lot of makeup in recommended colors and was "in a test phase". 🙂 I find it very interesting that I always subconsciously preferred Winter colors in clothes whereas my makeup was presumed to be Warm! Overall, I am enjoying this new experience very much.🙂
Thank you again for your time and for this amazing experience and I wish you all the best and a wonderful day.🙂Gaby, Italy
with love Pamela x
