Thank you to Pamela for inviting me to her corner of the Internet.
I'm a 49 year old busty apple shaped blogger and I'd like to share some of my favorite style tips. Along the way I've learned how to dress and flatter my midlife body - (36HH anyone?).
I hope these tips will help you to dress yourself with style too.
That means you have your top, a bottom and then a third piece that you wear over the top of them both which pulls it together as an outfit.
That could be a jacket, sweater or even a large scarf. It’s also a helpful piece that covers the dents and rolls that come from your bra strap or a waistband.
It's even better if it creates a vertical line so look for a sweater or jacket that hangs softly or a scarf like this one which brings the eye down.
This assymetric look is good too as there's no sharp cut off point - the line continues down.
What that means is that it’s flattering to create a line of the same color from top to bottom. For me dark colors work the best and there are two ways of doing it.
One is to have your top and bottom in the same color and choose your third piece in a different shade. This works equally well with a dress when you wear a jacket or sweater over the top like on the right and in the image at the top of the page. The dark tights and boots keep the color going.
Or you could have the third piece matching your bottom item and the top underneath a different color.
Either way you’re creating a long line of one color which elongates that busty apple shape making you look slimmer and taller.
Shopping is hard for a busty apple shape as there are so few designers who design specially for us. So some quick tips:
