Does coloring change as we age?

QUESTION

I was definitely a Winter in the past with very dark hair and dark brown eyes. As I aged, my eyes faded a little but are still pretty dark. My hair is gray and to cover it you have to go lighter unless you want to live at the hairdresser. I found a reddish light brown with blond highlights works best finally. I get a lot of complements on it, so know it goes with my pretty fair, pinkish toned to neutral skin.

The only thing I see on color analysis with brown eyes puts you in winter. Many bright colors I used to wear wash me out now. I can also look better in some that weren't my favorite in earlier years, like purples, greens, browns and some lighter colors (pastels were mostly awful on me when younger).

I have not found many clothes I like because they are always purple, green, or brown and look like stuff I already have. I don't seem to fit any pattern shown on this site or others I've viewed. Any suggestions?

ANSWER

Hi Nancy

Although not all Winters find that their color soften somewhat but some do! It can be comforting to have a new Color Analysis but it's not always necessary.

Because I work with the Tonal Colors as well as the Seasons, I can tell you quite categorically that brown eyes also fit into Warm, Autumn and the Cool color family.

If you were definitely a Winter then I suggest you may feel at home with the COOL Color Family, take a look at the details. And of course the photo at the top of the page which shows a former Winter lady with the gentler colors of COOL.

Although I have to say that the fact that you like a reddish brown hair colorant and wearing brown does make me wonder! Brown is not a good color for cool skins.

I hope this helps, but if you need further help do please use the Contact Me link which is easier for me to pick up.

kind regards
Pamela
