Hi there
"I'm so grateful I live in a world where there are Octobers!" Anne of Green Gables
As the leaves begin to fall and the nights are 'drawing in', I'm thinking about winter woollies and having the boiler serviced. The kids, however, are excited that pumpkins are appearing and already thinking of the Autumn festivities of Hallowe'en and Bonfire Night. Although my grandson is now 14 he's planning an exciting school trip to Iceland next year and is already counting down the days 'til Christmas!
So yes please to the Seasons and the fact that younger members of our family and/or community show us how to look ever forward. How fortunate we are to be here and experiencing the wonders of the ever changing landscape!
Lovely cover picture today, just shows how a simple sweater can pop over a lightweight dress so prettily.
Cool Colors for Fall - so sorry but I put the wrong link with this article in the last magazine. Please try again to see the new feature that I had intentionally written!
Many people suffer with the extremes of weather of course and our proposed short break in August was put on hold because of fires and then floods! Tragedy for many but now we are able to fly once more and currently we should be in Greece. A new country for me and I hope to tell you about next time. Take care Pamela X
We all look at neutral colors for the Autumn/Winter season. But we certainly don't need 50 Shades!!
All you need is to know the best shades to flatter your own complexion and harmonize with all the other shades in your Color Family.
Grey is a very versatile and useful neutral and perfect for every wardrobe but some shades will suit you better than others. Grey can be a bit of a chameleon so look at it in different lights to see how it blends with other colors.
It's September and the stores are traditionally full of delicious shades of pumpkin and mustard, olive and camel. But these shades are far from flattering to Cool coloring.
But I've got some lovely colorways and different ideas for outfits for all you ladies from the Summer, Cool and Winter color families.
Wearing black with Autumn colors is usually considered a no-no! But who said so?? I actually think they can look fabulous!
I frequently hear you saying "I can't do without black in my wardrobe! Can I wear it? Is it wrong?
There are no 'wrongs' with color, and if black makes you happy why not?

Emi, like many women, was a little concerned about occasional rosacea and yet, discovering her best color palette was a very positive step towards looking and feeling her best. Once her color family was confirmed she was so delighted that all negative thoughts were dispelled and she instantly delighted for her image to be shown. In fact, she sent me a delightful testimonial!
She says: "Wow! I am rather shocked! I'd been expecting Soft or Summer, but was resigned to trying out my best colors whatever the results despite the colors not appealling to me.
Actually I got teary eyed when I saw I am Spring because I've always loved the colors but never felt like I was warm enough or bright enough. The image of the woman in a royal blue top with purple cardigan is something from my very own closet and I LOVE bright combinations like that, just insecure that I could carry them off!
I am blissfully happy to be a Spring and to have some direction. I'm so very grateful to you!" Emi, USA
