Color Analysis results for Denise, USA

This is just a taster of the results of the Online Color Analysis results for Denise from the USA.  

Color Analysis is an online service and Denise completed a comprehensive questionnaire and included a few photos so that I completely understood her coloring, ethnic background and I was aware of any concerns.

The result? A stunning color palette to complement her natural coloring enabling her to look and feel her most attractive.

A summary of Denise's Color Analysis

Denise has a very fair skin (she calls it white) with a sprinkling of golden freckles. She also has auburn highlights to her hair and mentions green veins!! 

These are all factors that led her to believe and to be persuaded by makeup salesgirls that her coloring was warm! And yet she wasn't feel completely at home otherwise she wouldn't have contacted me! 

To be extra sure that I was in the right direction I did Denise's full color analysis twice to ensure that I hadn't missed anything that could change the result - but no, I was on exactly the right path! 

NB Please bear in mind that I never ever use unflattering photos of anyone  (it's just not fair) so yes I have photos of Denise that make her look paler than the ones I show here.

And the Online Color Analysis results... WINTER

This clearly shows that her eye has a gray outer rim which usually signifies a COOL undertone!

After the second process I could confirm that, indeed, Denise is a Winter, she certainly does not have warm coloring! Note the gray rim around her iris, a big factor! 

Following her color analysis results Denise says:

I've been wearing Autumn colors and I can't believe the difference!!! I AM Winter! I'm going to change my makeup and get rid of some of the red in my hair.

You're right about all of it including my eyes. I didn't really understand the question about a grey ring around your iris - well stupid me, I didn't really read  it and didn't think my dark grey ring counted. I've always tried to wear warm toned makeup. No wonder I look so pale and off. It's ok to be fair if you wear the right color!!!!!  Denise, USA

And 6 months later - an Epiphany! 

Funnily enough 6 months later I heard from Denise again which is always lovely... and it goes to show that sometimes it takes a while for the penny to really drop!

In other words when you've been working to one color palette for a long time acceptance doesn't always happen overnight! 

Denise says:

"6 months on - I wanted to share with you my epiphany, my brain finally clicked! This morning in my bathroom mirror (both robe and tile are the 'wrong' color) I realized that these colors confuse me because I am Winter and my skin tone is cool.

Long story short, I've been using the wrong makeup and making myself look sickly. Today the right foundation blush and shadow, a dark blue top and voila!

I also realized that most makeup people try to "warm you up" further adding to my confusion. I turn everything orange anyway so I don't need any of that, it's going in the garbage! 

Neutral and cool toned people can get a sun tan and still be cool, just a deeper shade. Self tanners are orange, more confusion. I can also lighten my hair a bit, it doesn't have to be black/brown just without red. It doesn't mean I have to be so ash that I look like a corpse. 

I'm going to embrace my fair skin, dark hair and eyes. I will stop following trends that don't work for me. But at least now I understand why.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!"
